In this telegram stalin is contacting korea to inform them that they should send arms through China. this could be seen as a war tactic because they are being secretive about how they are transporting weapons. This is important because korea is able to keep the element of surprise. His telegram consists of three main points " 1. The arms will be sent through Manchuria, Andong, Singisiu [Sineuiju]. 2. Concerning the location of the chief military adviser VASILIEV, we consider it more useful for him to be in Pyongyang. 3. We will give fully the arms, tanks and other military equipment for 2 divisions, 2 tank brigades and 12 battalions, but we consider that the main thing is not this but to fill out the existing divisions and to increase their strength approximately to 12,000. It is necessary to have attached to the divisions an apparatus for the formation of troops, which would receive the reinforcements, check and train them and after this, transfer them to reinforce the divisions. This is the main thing". We can clearly see that stalin is providing Korea with important war strategies. |

This online archive discusses the progression being made in korea during the Korean war. the person writing it is Comrade Zakharov. "I report about the preparation and course of the military operations of the Korean People’s Army" this is a direct quote from Zakharov. So based on this primary source i can conclude that these types of letters helped determine how battle plans were going to be carried out. These letters had a great impact on how tactics were chosen and how they were going to attack. |

Stalin was very involved in the moments made by Korea because he wanted to maintain his sphere of influence. He was very influencial over the decisions that Korea made, after all he did have a lot of war experience from WW2. The soviet advisors provided the Koreans with advice and strategies in oder to maintain their land. These strategies kept them mostly stable and were giving the US challenges to overcome.
